The plant is a compact, dense shrub 90 to 150 cm in height. The shoots are upright, dark red or burgundy in color, possess high resistance to lodging, and support the heavy inflorescences.
The leaves are dark green, slightly pubescent, with serrated margins and a reddish edge, turning a ruby shade in autumn. The dense, cone-shaped inflorescences reach 20–40 cm in length and consist of sterile and fertile flowers.
Flowering is profuse and continues from June–July until October. The color of the inflorescences at the beginning of the season is white with a green tip, then it quickly turns pink and becomes crimson or ruby. The variety is adapted to frost resistance zone 4 and withstands temperature drops down to -35...-40°C.
