The shrub is characterized by a spreading crown shape, which can become cascading as the inflorescences grow. Shoots are rigid and upright; the shrub reaches 1.5–2 m in width.

Inflorescences are 20–40 cm long and consist predominantly of sterile flowers. The color changes from creamy white upon blooming to pink and deep red (cherry) by the end of the season, often creating a multi-colored effect.

Flowering lasts from mid-July until autumn. The variety possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zone 5a, down to –29 °C) and good disease resistance. Under the weight of the large inflorescences, the shoots may deviate, which requires staking, especially in young plants.
