Variety description

The shrub is characterized by an upright, spreading growth habit and reaches a height of 120 to 350 cm. The shoots are rigid and sturdy. The leaves are dark green, rough, lanceolate in shape, and acquire purple or yellowish tints in autumn.

Large conical inflorescences up to 20 cm in length consist of many small fertile and a small number of large sterile flowers. The color when blooming is creamy white, and a pinkish hue may appear towards the end of flowering. The flowers have a honey aroma.

The variety is late-flowering: the flowering period lasts from August to October. The plant is winter hardy (zone 4, down to –34 °C), low-maintenance, and adapted to urban conditions. It prefers fertile, moist, slightly acidic soils and requires regular pruning to maintain its shape.
