The plant is a shrub 1.2 to 1.8 meters tall with green foliage. Inflorescences are in the form of flat corymbs. Flower color varies from blue and light blue to white or pink depending on soil acidity.
The variety is noted as highly susceptible to powdery mildew. The plant prefers sites sheltered from the wind and is used in landscape design for creating borders, in container gardening, and in woodland gardens.
