The plant is a compact, broad, and dense shrub 1–1.2 meters high, capable of reaching 1.5–2 meters. Inflorescences have a flat or hemispherical "lacecap" shape, consisting of small central fertile flowers and large sterile flowers surrounding them.
The color of the inflorescences varies from sky-blue on acidic soils to pale pink on neutral and alkaline soils. The foliage is dark green, acquiring reddish-purple shades in autumn. Flowering lasts from July to September or October.
The variety possesses good resistance to diseases, in particular to leaf spot. Frost hardiness is assessed as medium, corresponding to zones from 5a and temperature limits around -18°C...-20°C, which requires covering in regions with severe winters.
