The variety is a medium-sized deciduous shrub reaching 1.2 m in height and 1.5 m in width. Young leaves have a bronze tint, which darkens under sufficient light.
Inflorescences are corymbose and of the lacecap type, where fertile flowers in the center are surrounded by large sterile flowers. The color of the sterile flowers is white with a bright pink border.
The flowering period occurs from June to August. The plant grows on fertile, drained soils in locations ranging from partial shade to sunny areas. The variety possesses cold hardiness characteristic of this hydrangea species.
