The plant is a well-branched shrub less than 1 meter tall. Leaves are characterized by a distinct texture and the ability to acquire burgundy-brown shades.

Sterile flowers have elongated petals and are semi-double or double. In acidic soils they turn medium-blue, and in alkaline soils, they turn pink.

The variety prefers moisture-retentive, well-drained soils and partial shade. It possesses winter hardiness and the ability to bloom on current-year shoots; it is suitable for use in borders and woodland areas of the garden.
