Variety description

The shrub is characterized by a dense crown, reaching 1.0–1.2 m in height and 1.2–1.5 m in width. The leaves are oval or lanceolate, dark green, acquiring reddish or purple shades by autumn. The variety is known by the synonym Acuminata.

Inflorescences with a diameter of about 10 cm consist of central fertile and marginal sterile flowers. Flowering lasts from June to September. The plant requires moist, fertile soils and partial shade, winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 6–9, the shoots possess strength.
