The shrub has a rounded shape, reaching a height of 75 to 150 cm. Shoots are characterized by a reddish hue. Leaves are dark green, oval or narrow-ovate, with a serrated edge, often turning red in the autumn period.

Mophead-type inflorescences are white at the beginning of flowering, then acquire pink or reddish tones. The shade of the flowers can vary from light pink to light blue depending on the soil acidity level.

The plant is winter-hardy and prefers moist, well-drained soils. It tolerates both full sun and partial shade well. Flowering occurs on previous year's shoots, so it is recommended to remove only damaged parts and faded inflorescences when pruning.
