The variety is a Japanese mountain hydrangea with small flowers gathered in small spherical inflorescences. The flower color is light-pink. The shrub is characterized by a compact size: the plant height after 10 years is about 75 cm.

The variety is winter hardy. The flowering period is from June to August. The variety has a connection to natural forms or old Japanese cultivars and is designated in the nomenclature as Hydrangea serrata f. belladonna (Kitam.).

Due to its compact size, the variety is well-suited for small gardens and container cultivation.
