The plant forms a rounded shrub 60–90 cm in height and width. Leaves are large, heart-shaped, with a serrated edge, and have a dark green color that changes to bronze and burgundy tones in autumn. The stems are characterized by strength.
Lacecap-type inflorescences consist of semi-double and double flowers of a deep pink-red shade, which is maintained regardless of soil acidity. Upon opening, inflorescences may have a greenish-red color.
The variety blooms from early summer to autumn. It possesses improved winter hardiness of flower buds, which ensures flowering in USDA zones 5–9. Susceptibility to powdery mildew is possible with poor air circulation. It is used in landscape design and container gardening.
