The variety is a low-growing shrub with a height of 0.5 to 0.8 meters, sometimes reaching 1.2 meters. The leaves are green, oval-shaped with a serrated edge. The culture is used in landscaping and is suitable for cutting.
The inflorescences are of the lacecap type: central fertile flowers are surrounded by white double sterile flowers of star shape, which may acquire a pinkish or greenish hue with age.
The plant prefers acidic, rich, and well-drained soils. For cultivation, locations protected from direct midday sun with light partial shade and regular watering are recommended. The variety is distinguished by higher winter hardiness compared to Hydrangea macrophylla.
