The tree has moderate vigor and a widely spreading crown. The fruits have a flat-spherical or broadly conical shape; their skin is pale yellow with a bright carmine-red blush covering about a quarter of the surface.

The fruit flesh is white, tender, and fine-grained, prone to rapid browning upon oxidation. The variety is a winter type, maturing 2–4 weeks before Golden Delicious. The harvest can be stored in a refrigerator for up to 2–3 months.

The variety is demanding of soil, preferring light and warm sites, and is heat- and light-loving. The tree is drought-tolerant but lacks winter hardiness. Bearing is regular, with a possible tendency toward biennial bearing.
