The variety is a chance seedling, characterized by vigorous growth and a tendency for excessive crown branching, which requires regular pruning. The trees are sensitive to frost and need protected sites for proper fruit ripening.

Fruits are medium to large in size, conical in shape, with a yellow ground color and a red overcolor. The flesh is juicy, greenish-white. The variety is characterized by good keeping quality until March, but is prone to scab, powdery mildew, fire blight, and nectria canker on heavy soils.

The variety is for universal use: the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, as well as processing into juice and apple wine production due to a high content of sugars and acids.
