The variety is a mutant of Jonagold. The main distinguishing feature of the fruits is an intense dark red blush covering almost the entire surface of the skin. When exposed to bright light or harvested late, the fruits may acquire a bronze hue.

Fruit ripening occurs approximately one week earlier than that of the original variety. The variety possesses improved keeping quality indices. The trees have no significant differences from Jonagold in terms of winter hardiness, disease resistance, as well as requirements for soil and agrotechnical conditions.
