The variety was bred in Budapest at the University of Horticulture and Food Industry. It belongs to the group of dessert apple varieties.

In scientific publications, the variety is mentioned in the context of genetic research using DNA markers and the analysis of allergenic proteins of the Mal d 1 family. Cases of parthenocarpy, manifested as the formation of seedless fruits, have also been noted.
