The variety is a clone of the traditional Jonathan apple tree. After a storage period, the fruits demonstrate a higher ratio of soluble solids to acidity compared to the original variety.

The plant is susceptible to fruit spotting, the incidence of which may be higher than in a number of other varieties, especially with late harvest dates. At the same time, the incidence of scald is assessed as relatively low. The flowering of the variety is intensely visited by bees, which positively influences fruit set.
