The variety is a bud mutation of the Jonathan group. The fruits have an attractive appearance with red or red-striped coloring, possessing a rich flavor typical of the parent group. A distinctive feature of the variety is earlier development and intensity of skin color compared to other Jonathan strains.

The Jonnee tree is characterized by medium-vigorous growth. Like the parent group, this variety can be susceptible to diseases such as powdery mildew, fire blight, and apple rust. The fruits are used as dessert for fresh consumption and are also suitable for culinary processing.
