The variety is the result of a bud mutation of the classic Jonathan. The tree is characterized by medium vigor and susceptibility to diseases typical of the original variety. The variety is not self-fertile and requires the presence of pollinators such as Gloster, Golden Delicious, Idared, or Starking.

Fruits reach a mass of 130–140 g and mature in late August – early September. By the time of harvest, the apple surface is almost completely covered with a dark red blush. The flesh is firmer and harder compared to the base variety, possessing a sweet-and-sour taste and aroma.

Apples are suitable for fresh consumption and storage for 4–5 months. The fruits are also used for industrial processing, in particular, for the production of fruit distillates.
