The variety belongs to the group of late summer apple trees. The fruits have characteristic deep red stripes on the skin, and the flesh is of a yellowish hue. The taste is described as sweet-and-sour with a characteristic dry aftertaste resembling cinnamon. At the stage of full maturity, the flesh may partially become glassy.

The variety is an ancient variety of folk selection. Its primary purpose is for fresh consumption. Open sources lack data on the tree height, as well as specific indicators of resistance to diseases and lodging.
