The variety belongs to the processing group of semi-acidic apples. It is characterized by a very late flowering period and high yield. The fruits ripen in the second ten-day period of November. The variety has medium to low susceptibility to fungal diseases.

The quality indicators of the fruits are 3.83 g/l for total acidity and 0.99 g/l for total phenol content. The variety is an important genetic resource and is used for the production of traditional Asturian cider within the framework of a protected geographical indication.

This variety is included in the Asturian pomological register as an official cider variety with a recognized description.
