The Russian variety «Марс» is characterized by a rounded crown of medium density and a tree height of 4–5 meters. The fruits are large, weighing 180–200 g, have a cylindrical ribbed shape, a slanted apex, and a green-yellow color with a red blush. The flesh is greenish, fine-grained, and juicy. The variety is immune to scab, is distinguished by regular bearing and high yield, and is of winter maturity.

The Czech variety «Mars» is a complex hybrid whose tree has low to medium vigor. The fruits are large, spherical or slightly conical in shape, and covered with a bright red blush over the entire surface. The flesh is cream-yellow, juicy, and possesses an aroma of exotic fruits. The variety is of winter maturity, is immune to scab, and has high resistance to diseases.
