The variety is a selection from the historical 'Edelborsdorfer' variety. It was created as a symbolic object associated with Martin Luther's saying about planting an apple tree.
Belongs to the autumn maturity group. The fruits are yellow with 'rosy cheeks' and have a noble aroma. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant have not been published.
