The rootstock was bred at the Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in Skierniewice. Trees on this rootstock have a vigor slightly lower than that of the widely used M.9 rootstock.

The rootstock is distinguished by very high cropping efficiency. Its features include a tendency to form bark outgrowths and shallow rooting. When using this rootstock, the fruits of some varieties may be smaller than when grown on other types of rootstocks.
