The fruits of this variety have a flat-round shape with slight ribbing. Their skin is colored bright red, sometimes solid, and covered with a characteristic bluish waxy bloom. The fruit flesh has a coarse but tender and crisp texture.

The variety belongs to the autumn group and is used primarily fresh as a dessert apple. The taste is described as moderately sour and sweet, with a spicy or herbaceous note. The plant has high adaptability to northern climatic conditions, growing successfully in zones I–V according to the Finnish classification.
