The tree is noted for high vitality, forming large crowns that become weeping with age. The variety is considered an old folk breeding product, likely of Carpathian or Hungarian origin.

Fruits ripen in late October, the consumption period lasts from December to May. Taste qualities are described as sweet-and-sour, without pronounced spice. The variety is highly susceptible to Nectria canker and is recommended for cultivation at altitudes up to 450 meters above sea level.
