Trees are characterized by strong or medium-strong growth and form a broad, spreading crown. Fruits reach harvest maturity in October, and consumption maturity occurs in the period from December to March.

Fruits are large or very large, often irregular in shape, with yellowish skin covered with a dark red blush on 60–80% of the surface. The variety is susceptible to scab, fruit tree canker, and bark diseases, but possesses relative resistance to fire blight.

The variety is a mutation of Schöner aus Boskoop and is used universally: as a dessert variety and as one of the best options for baking.
