The variety is a bud mutation of the Schöner aus Boskoop variety. The tree is vigorous with a broad, spreading crown, the height of which depends on the rootstock. The variety is triploid, is not a pollinator for other varieties, and requires the presence of external pollinator trees.

The fruits are large, often over 200 g, ranging from flat-round to round in shape, sometimes with ribbing. The skin is rough, dry, yellow-green in color with an intense dark red or brownish-red blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, firm, juicy, with high acidity and a spicy aroma.

Harvest maturity occurs in October, consumer maturity from December to March/April. The variety shows resistance to fire blight, but may be susceptible to scab, brown rot, flesh browning, and bitter pit.
