The variety is the result of crossing Cox Orange and Schöner aus Nordhausen. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and a broadly pyramidal crown. The fruits are flat-round, weighing about 110 grams, and have smooth, thin yellow-green skin with an orange-red blush.

The flesh of the fruit is yellowish-white, juicy, fine-grained, with a balanced sweet-sour taste. Harvest maturity occurs in the second half of October, and consumer maturity lasts from December to March. The fruits are sensitive to damage during transport.

The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators such as James Grieve, Idared, Golden Delicious, Alkmene, Goldparmäne or Dülmener Rosenapfel. It prefers moist and deep soils, is susceptible to powdery mildew, but is relatively resistant to scab.
