This ornamental form has a pronounced weeping crown type. In cultivation, it is often grown by training on a stem up to a height of about five meters, after which the branches cascade almost vertically downward.
The plant has large leaves measuring approximately 12 by 4.5 centimeters with a serrulate margin. Flowering is accompanied by the appearance of mauve-red buds and flowers of a red shade.
