The variety is a tree or large shrub 3–5 meters in height with a crown that changes shape from broad-pyramidal to spreading. Young leaves and shoots have a purple hue; in summer, the foliage becomes bronze-green, and in autumn, it turns orange-red.
The plant possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zone 4) and resistance to scab and fire blight. The small fruits, 2 cm in diameter, are edible but have a bitter-spicy taste and are not suitable for table use. The variety can be used as a pollinator for fruit-bearing apple trees.
