The tree reaches a height of 3–4 m by 10 years of age. The crown is narrow, columnar or narrow-pyramidal, formed by vertical branches. Upon budding, leaves are bronze-red, later acquiring a dark green shade with purple petioles and prominent veins.

Flowering occurs in April-May; the flowers are large, simple, white with pink edges. The fruits are spherical, dark purple on long pedicels, maturing in October. The fruit flesh is red, containing pectin, and is suitable for processing into jams and jellies.

The variety is self-fertile, possesses high winter hardiness, and good disease resistance. It is used in landscape design for creating avenues, vertical accents, and garden landscaping.
