Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing Idared and Bancroft varieties. The tree is vigorous, forming a crown without a dominant leader with pendulous fruiting wood. The variety enters bearing early and demonstrates high but occasionally inconsistent yields. The wood is noted for good winter hardiness, and the flowers are resistant to late spring frosts.

Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in October; consumer maturity lasts from November to April, and up to June when stored in cold conditions. The fruits are large, weighing over 200 g, with a round, slightly ribbed shape. The skin is yellow with a bright purple-red blush covering 70–90% of the surface. The flesh is cream-colored, firm, juicy, and sweet-tart in taste with an intense aroma.

Regarding diseases, the variety shows low susceptibility to powdery mildew and low to medium susceptibility to scab, although under adverse conditions, severe scab infection is possible. For cross-pollination, pollinator varieties such as Idared, Pinova, James Grieve, or Golden Delicious are required.
