Malus × robusta «Persicifolia» is a small tree or shrub reaching about 5 meters in height with a broadly oval, semi-open crown. The 7–8 cm long leaves are visually similar to peach foliage. The variety blooms in April with white flowers, and small bright red fruits about 2 cm in size remain on the branches until February.
The plant is undemanding regarding soil and urban conditions and possesses good winter hardiness (zone 5). The variety has high resistance to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora). In botanical literature, the epithet «persicifolia» may also be used as a synonym for forms of the wild-growing Malus sieversii.
