Variety description

The variety is a mutation of the Jonagold tree. It belongs to late autumn or winter varieties; harvesting begins in mid-to-late September. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and is a triploid, therefore requiring the planting of diploid pollinator varieties with a similar flowering period.
The fruits are large, round-conical in shape, with intense dark red or red-black coloration. The flesh is firm, juicy, crisp, cream-yellow in color, and possesses a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is characterized by high keeping quality, maintaining marketability until June when stored in a controlled atmosphere.
The plant has medium sensitivity to scab and increased sensitivity to powdery mildew. During heavy fruiting, the tree is prone to biennial bearing, therefore it requires crop regulation through thinning.
