The variety was bred in Czechoslovakia in 1960 by breeder Otto Louda. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, has a rounded crown, and is prone to terminal bearing, which requires specific pruning.
Fruits ripen at the end of September, have a round-cylindrical or conical shape, and cream-colored juicy flesh with a wine-sweet taste. The ground color is yellow, covered with an orange-red blush or stripes. The variety is self-infertile, and resistance to scab and powdery mildew is assessed as medium.
Under normal storage conditions, the fruits maintain quality for up to two months. The variety is used as a parent form in breeding, having become an ancestor for such apples as Topaz and Rubinola.
