Ruby gala is a bud mutation of the Gala variety and belongs to the late-autumn or early-winter apple group. The morphological traits of the tree correspond to the parent variety, while in commercial horticulture, plant height is regulated by the use of dwarf and semi-dwarf rootstocks.
The main difference of Ruby gala fruits is an intense blush covering the surface of the apple. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and market sale. Disease resistance corresponds to the characteristics of the parent Gala variety.
