Variety description

The variety is a spur clone of «Red Chief», belonging to the «Red Delicious» group. The tree is characterized as low-growing or medium-growing, which requires the use of vigorous rootstocks and high planting density.

Fruits are large, weighing 180–230 g, elongated in shape with five characteristic lobes. The skin is smooth, shiny, dark red in color, covering almost the entire surface of the fruit. The flesh is firm, crisp, light yellow or greenish-white, with a sweet taste.

The variety is a winter one; harvest takes place in the second half of autumn. Fruits possess good transportability and retain their commercial quality when stored in a refrigerator for 3–4 months. The variety is sensitive to scab, canker, and is moderately susceptible to powdery mildew.
