The dessert variety Splendor is a fruit tree with medium to large conic-shaped fruits. The fruit skin is green-yellow with a red blush and light lenticels, the flesh is crisp and sweet. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and store for up to three months; however, the variety has not gained wide industrial distribution due to the fragility of the skin.
The ornamental variety Red Splendor is a tree 5–7 meters tall with a spreading crown. The leaves change color from dark red in spring to green in summer and bronze in autumn. The plant blooms with pink flowers and forms small burgundy-red fruits, which often remain on the branches until winter.
