The deciduous tree reaches a height of about 6 meters with a crown width from 1.5 to 5 meters. The plant has an upright crown shape and high winter hardiness, corresponding to hardiness zones 2–4.
In mid-spring, the tree is covered with large fragrant flowers of a dark pink or red color, opening from bright red buds. Young leaves have a bronze-red hue, and in autumn the foliage turns bright red and scarlet tones.
The fruits are small, cherry-sized, red or purple, and remain on the branches for a long time. The variety is susceptible to fire blight, which should be considered when choosing a planting site.
