Trees of this variety have a medium height but can reach 10 meters and are characterized by noticeably larger leaves compared to other varieties. The fruits have a cylindrical, elongated shape with a rounded or pointed tip; their average weight is 5–6 grams.
At the full maturity stage, the fruits acquire a dark cherry or almost black color. The variety is late-ripening; harvesting is carried out manually from November to December. The fruits are valued for their firm, fleshy texture and easily removable stone; processing for oil is also possible.
The plant is sensitive to low temperatures. The variety is susceptible to Verticillium wilt; however, it shows resistance to the olive fruit fly and the bacterial disease 'olive knot'.
