The fruits of the variety are large and almond-shaped, turning dark purple or black-purple upon full ripening. A distinctive morphological feature of the tree is its large leaves, the size of which is twice that of many other varieties. Mature trees reach a height of approximately 6 meters.

The variety is classified as a table variety and is used for pickling, traditionally in wine vinegar and olive oil. Harvesting is carried out manually at the stage of full maturity between December and January. The plant is sensitive to cold and Verticillium wilt, while showing resistance to the olive fruit fly and olive knot.
