This ecotype is found in the province of Benevento and is distributed on the hills around the localities of Castelvetere in Val Fortore, San Giorgio la Molara, Molinara, Pesco Sannita, and Pago Veiano. In literature, this biotype is sometimes mistakenly called Provenzale. The name also appears in Italian fruit tree variety registers.
Local producers pay attention to the conservation of this biotype due to the high quality of the oil obtained from it. It should be noted that under the same name, Greek sources may refer to monumental historical olive trees, which are unrelated to this Italian ecotype.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
