The Uddanella variety tree has an upright habit, and its crown is distinguished by its compactness and density. The vigor of the plant is assessed as medium. The productivity of the variety is characterized by stability.
During the ripening process, the fruits change color from green to dark purple, almost black. The fruit surface is shiny, with numerous small lenticels. The variety is valued for a high yield of quality olive oil, amounting to approximately 19–20%.
This is an ancient local variety, grown primarily in the provinces of Avellino and Benevento. It has a number of synonyms, such as Oliva Rotonda, Oliviello Tondo, Pallara, Ritonna, Solevara and Sorvara.
