The Štorta variety (synonyms Ukrivljena, Fažolina, Piranska Štorta, Storta di Pirano) is an autochthonous Istrian variety obtained through folk selection. The trees are characterized by vigorous growth and a sparse canopy.
The fruits are medium to large in size, have an elongated, slightly asymmetrical shape, and an easily removable stone. Harvesting for canning is carried out at the end of September. Yields are relatively regular; however, during drought, the fruits may become smaller and acquire a fibrous texture.
The oil obtained from the fruits of this variety has an average level of tocopherols and a reduced content of biophenols. The variety is characterized by increased susceptibility to olive fruit fly infestation.
