The tree is vigorous, with a wide spreading crown and heavy dense branches. The variety is late-maturing: harvesting takes place from the end of June to July. The plant is considered hardy and possesses relative resistance of flowers to spring frosts, however, on heavy soils it may suffer from bacterial canker.

The fruits are heart-shaped and reach about 24 mm in diameter. The skin changes color during ripening from brownish-red to almost black. The flesh is firm and juicy, and has a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption, canning, and cooking, although the fruits are prone to cracking in unfavorable weather.
