In specialized pomological sources and plant genetic banks, this name is recorded exclusively as a synonym for the variety Souvenir des Charmes, also known by the names Äpfeleskirsche or Bigarreau de la Charme.

The variety is an ancient one, historically associated with the Pfalz region in Germany. Since the plant is considered part of the history of the Souvenir des Charmes variety, no separate morphological characteristics or data on breeding origin are distinguished under this trade name.

Like other historical varieties of the Bigarreau group, it was traditionally used for fresh consumption and for processing.
