The Chatenay’s Schöne tree does not show strong growth. At the beginning of development, the branches are directed upward, but with age they acquire a drooping form, which makes the growth habit of the tree similar to the Morello cherry.
The fruits of this variety are characterized as quite large, having a round shape close to heart-shaped. The variety is productive and is historically mentioned in pomological classifications of the 19th century under a number of alternative names.
