The Elmer variety (selection number IVT VH 440) was obtained as a result of crossing the Schattenmorelle and Mayduke varieties. A characteristic morphological feature of the tree is the flat-round shape of the crown.
During the trials, the variety demonstrated varying productivity depending on the region, with its yield being considered low in Danish trials. The variety did not become widely distributed as a high-yielding variety or one recommended for commercial and organic horticulture.
