The rootstock was selected from the Pollizo de Murcia population and is intended for use in horticulture as a base for grafting. It promotes restrained growth of the scion, early entry of trees into fruiting and an acceleration of fruit ripening by 3–7 days.
The plant has high adaptability to adverse soil conditions, including high lime levels and the risk of root asphyxia. Resistance to infestation by certain species of nematodes and root rot has been noted, as well as the rootstock's ability to positively influence the accumulation of sugars and antioxidants in the scion's fruits.
The rootstock is propagated vegetatively by means of hardwood cuttings or by the in vitro method.
